Clouds /
WhisperWhat sounds do you make
In cotton sotto voce?
Do you seduce the raindrops with sibilant pseudo silences
Or sing to the sun, when no eye spies?Do you serenade Selene and Astra,
In quiet eventide reverie? What secret life you hide in doughy evanescence?
You confess in darkened tears of rain...4.28.09
Remember these?

I like green grass, under gray skies, with sunlight piercing through like columns of living light...

Read the link on your post. Liked this quote:
"A woman is a woman until the day she dies, but a man is a man only as long as he can."
I like it not in a derogatory way (most of the jokes on that page are though), but because it points at a truth. Men always seem to work so hard to be "men", and are threatened by so many things that purport to take their manliness away. How can one's gender be taken away? Women are born female. Men seem to have to earn their masculinity.
On an intellectual way I see how this came about. Men have in many cultures had a higher position in society, and women lower. To have your masculinity taken away is to be a "woman", and thus to have a lower position. To gain manliness is to gain power and position.
To which I respond, "What's so bad about being a woman?" (Apart from PMS and childbirth that is.)
實在很感謝你的祝福+鼓勵...我會努力的~

It's an interesting concept -
Phlyogenetically, one might argue that the female state is the baseline state; testosterone (activation found normally on the srY gene) being required to cause the neuroanatomic changes in utero... XY zygotes with mutations in SrY or transpositions end up female.
So, in a sense, from conception, you have to "earn" being a male...
I think male-ness drives us to be competitive, and compare ourselves to one another...
Fascinating stuff, eh?
